As of June 1, 2006, the Enduring Freedom KIA Fund will focus on those families who did not get the full benefit package. Thank you for understanding this change in policy.
A group of influential people in the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs, CA) formed a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to help the families of the KIAs.
The overriding idea shared by all participants is that as much of the money as possible be transferred to the families of the fallen soldiers.
Overhead is kept to a minimum by meeting at local restaurants and donated meeting space. Financial, managerial oversight and early legal help has been donated by local professional organizations.
If you donate after reading this web site, then the Lions share of your donation will go directly to the families of our fallen military men and women.
The mural's physical construction and photography were underwritten by a handful of local philanthropists and is completely paid for.
It is also important to note that no artist has been compensated in any way (other than some meals, and simple tools) for time and/or effort expended to produce the mural. The artists spent a year in a donated aircraft T-hangar at the Palm Springs Airport, building, and painting the portable 8ft x 28ft mural wall. This included multiple 121°F days in the all-metal aircraft hangar.
These fine artists took time out from school, life and jobs to pursue a lofty ideal. They are all worthy of our respect and admiration.
Please view the memorials listed on this site in order to become better acquainted with the character of those who have given their lives for their country, and the magnitude of the sacrifice which they have made.
